The 600 Club – Saints Golf Donor Fund

Founded during the University’s 600th anniversary celebrations in 2013, The 600 Club is a global community of alumni, supporters and friends whose generosity helps Saints Golf thrive.

For more than 170 years, golf has been woven into the fabric of student life at the University of St Andrews. Today, nearly 1,000 students, almost one in every ten at the University, engage with Saints Golf, making it one of the largest and most vibrant university golf programmes in Europe.

Campaign priorities

What makes Saints Golf truly distinctive is not simply the number of students who play, but the journey they take.

Every golfer starts somewhere. For some, that journey begins with their very first swing at St Andrews. For others, it begins with the ambition to compete at the highest level while earning a world-class education. Whatever their starting point, Saints Golf provides a single, connected pathway, from beginner to competitor, from student to leader, and ultimately to lifelong ambassador for the University and the Home of Golf.

Along the way, students develop confidence, resilience and leadership. They build friendships that last a lifetime, represent the University around the world, and discover a community that shapes their university experience in ways they never imagined.

Every gift to The 600 Club strengthens this pathway, ensuring that every student, regardless of background, experience or ability, has the opportunity to discover what golf can become in their life.

Performance Scholarships

Recruiting and retaining world-class student golfers against fully funded American competition.

supports a year of specialist coaching and sports science for one scholar

funds a full undergraduate scholarship for one talented student-athlete for a year

Beginners & Developers

Removing the first barrier to picking up a club.

gives one student their first golf lesson

gives 40 students their first taste of golf through our beginner coaching programme

fully funds the Beginners & Developers programme for a year, opening the game to every student who wants to try

Women in Golf

Nearly 60% of our beginner lesson programme are women — building on that momentum.

fully funds the Women in Golf programme for a year, from first lesson through to leadership and lifelong alumni engagement

Disability Golf

Opening the game to any of our 2,000+ students registered with a disability.

provides adapted equipment for students new to the sport

Club and Competition

Supporting the students who represent St Andrews, from BUCS fixtures to our most historic tournament.

covers BUCS Championship travel and accommodation for the team

fully funds the Competitive programme for a year, travel, tournaments and coaching support for every student who represents St Andrews
